As I'm writing this, the beautiful sun rays are hitting my face. Total Bliss.

Now that we are living rather odd times, COVID-19 running rampant all over the globe and people are being forced to stay homebound, limit their 'move abouts' and so forth, one thing has become very clear to me: my strong immune system makes me feel rather calm, strong and protected. I am not afraid of catching anything really as I rarely get ill. Actually, I cannot remember the last time I've had a cold, fever or any sort of flu- or cold symptoms.

Though, this certainly wasn't always the case. I've completely changed my life and health by changing my diet and my relationship with food. Do go read my earlier post where I share my history a bit.

Anyhow, regarding myself not getting ill easily, I'm not bragging, at all. I want to share with you how to stay strong, vibrant and in good health.

At the age of almost 44, I have never felt better. I've learned to listen to my body, to eat intuitively and, as my genuine passion for studying rich nutrition grows day by day, I want to share what I've learned so far.

So now, as we all struggle with the current coronavirus pandemic, we need to remember to take care of ourselves, both mentally and physically. What comes to our current situation ('The C-Virus') it's good to remind ourselves that so far in the 21st century, we’ve already had two pandemics. So, this too shall pass!

In the meantime, the best thing that you can do for yourself is to boost your immunity. Though we have to be aware that nothing will give us 100% protection, but strong Immune system, Healthy Body and Healthy Mind will certainly help vastly!

Quick Tips for 'C-Virus'

*Stay calm, Meditate and Practice Gratitude. Don't let your mind control you and let the fear get the best you. Remember, YOU control your mind!

*Get Fresh Air: Go out to nature as much as you can

*Exercise (you can do a LOT indoors. E.g. I've had a home yoga practice since 2008)

*Stay hydrated by drinking lots of Water

*WASH your hands (for 20 sec, 3-5 times per day) and in general, remember Good Hygiene

*Cook lovely, NUTRITIOUS & comforting foods or bake healthy, sugar-free treats (processed sugar lowers immunity!)

*Take Vitamin C (ascorbic acid), Zink acetate and Magnesium daily

*Be present Totally with your spouse/ children/ friends/ pets and make sure your loved ones are OK (phone calls, text messages). Social distancing doesn't mean social isolation.

*Read more or oh boy, just wash your windows or get rid of stuff you no longer need. Or, just sleep more. Learn to just BE in the present moment and breathe slowly.

I'm sure you understand my point. Do whatever it is that is possible for you to do while social distancing is on. This is not going to last forever thereby, cherish this opportunity to wind down. Take it as a great gift as Gratitude takes you far.

Mother Nature has truly shaken the whole of humanity awake now. This is a great chance for our Planet Earth to heal and each and every one of us to #recharge #rejuvinate #redirect #rethink #reevaluate #reboot #regroup

You certainly are capable of turning your life around should you want to. If you're not 100% happy and healthy in your body, You CAN change things, 100%. I've done it, thereby YOU CAN too!

* Please note, I am not a medical or health care professional, but all the information I share here I have learned over the years from trusted experts not forgetting years of personal experience.

How to get a strong immune system for the rest of your life

Now, to my subject. How to get a strong immune system? I've gathered a short List of Tips that you can incorporate into your daily routine and, of course, the most beneficial foods to boost your immune system.

It all comes down to ancient wisdom and daily habits. There's no quick fix, sorry. Yes yes, you've heard it before. But anyone trying to offer you quick fixes, run a mile honey. Or few, in fact...

First of all, remember: our bodies are meant to thrive! Not just to survive, but thrive. But, YOU have to let it do so by adopting correct lifestyle habits such as Exercise/movement, Eating Nutritious Foods, Getting Adequate Rest and Practising Heart-Brain Coherence (Reference 1 and 2).

I wanted to gather these Tips faaast so that as many people as possible can benefit, right now. Therefore, you'll find this post literally 'a list' where I haven't gone into explaining, for example, why certain foods are great for your immunity. The main thing is that you can start building your immunity up NOW. It will be the best decision you'll ever make. #yourhealthiswealth

If you're already familiar with, practicing some of these tips and eating nutritious foods (great!), then please pass this forward to anyone in need.

General Tips

So, the ancient Greek Father of Medicine, Hippocrates already said the following:

“All diseases begin in the gut”

“Let medicine be thy food and food thy medicine”

“Natural forces within us are the true healers of disease” and

that for true healing and optimum health, we need to exercise.

The word “diet” by the way, comes from the ancient Greek word “diaita,” which means “the way of life.”

In ancient Greece, a diet was about good health and one component of that was food.

Good health required the nurturing of the mind, body and soul. The diet was a key component to ensuring good gut health and a healthy immune system. The ancient Greeks also noted the correlation and the link between the gut and emotional/brain health.

1. Your Mindset matters. Practice forgiveness and Gratitude. Adopt healthy and happy thoughts.

Ultimately, we are responsible for our health and well-being, so it’s important to substitute fear with faith. Also, Listen to Your Inner Voice and Trust yourself.

You know your body better than anyone else so it is important to meditate, be still and to listen to what requires healing. E.g. ask yourself what you would like to cook and what ingredients to cook with.

"Day by day, what you choose, what you think and what you do is who you become."

- Heraclitus

2. Eat High Vibrational Foods with peace and calm

To ensure a long, healthy life we all need to eat mindfully and to become aware of the food we eat. We also need to take note of how the food we are eating affects the way we feel.

Cook and eat foods with a high vibrational frequency. These include fresh certified organic fruit and vegetables (e.g. greens and living grains such as sprouts), natural supplements e.g. spirulina, herbal teas, herbs and spices, pure-, spring or filtered water (fluoride and chemical free), good oils e.g. olive oil, coconut oil and avocado oil.

Low Vibrational foods are genetically modified (GMO) food and conventional food that has been treated with chemicals and pesticides: white rice and flours, sugars (sugars DESTROY immunity), artificial sweeteners, coffee, sodas, alcohol, meat, fish and poultry; processed, packaged, canned and fast foods; unhealthy oils e.g. canola, soy, cottonseed, margarine, lard and vegetable oils; pasteurized cow’s milk-, yogurt- and cheese and, cooked foods that are deep-fried and microwaved.

If you eat meat, the best option always is organic or at the very least grass-fed and grass-finished. Ensure that fish and prawns are not farmed. Avoid tilapia, farmed salmon and farmed prawns. These are usually fed toxic GMO feed.

3. Get outside in Sunshine and practice Earthing /Grounding (barefooted best)

4. Remember General hygiene and Oil pulling is great for mouth health (Reference)

5. Use Hydrotherapy (such as a sauna or hot-cold showers)

6. Use Essential oils: Lavender, Frankincense, Lemon & other Citrus oils, Oregano, Thyme, Clove; Cinnamon-, Lemon-, Bergamot-, Thyme- and Eucalyptus- Mix is a great cleanser. Remember to diffuse oils into the air as they cleanse your environment.

7. Use Supplements such as Bone Broth (e.g. bone broth protein powder); Vit D-, C ascorbate-, Selenium- and Zink acetate- Mix or take them separately; Probiotics, CBD oil (high concentration- and quality is a must), Black Elderberry and Mushrooms such as Reishi and Agarikon (more info on Agarikon Here)

8. Use Ashwagandha or other adaptogens for your particular need (Reference)

9. Get rid of toxic home cleaning products and toxic cosmetics by replacing them with natural cleaning products and/or essential oil-based ones and, organic natural hair care- and cosmetic products.

10. Get enough Sleep!

11. Intermittent fasting and low-carbohydrate foods reset your immune system (Reference and more strong evidence here: References)
